Redeeming from iTunes

1. Launch iTunes and click on iTunes Store.
2. Click Redeem on the far right.
3. Enter your code and click the Redeem button.

Redeeming from your iPhone (requires OS 3.0)

1. Tap the App Store icon from the Home Screen.
2. Navigate to the New section on the Featured tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the list to locate and tap the Redeem button.
4. Enter the promo code and tap the Redeem button in the upper right.
5. Tap done on the Thank You screen, then tap the home button to return to the home screen.
6. After a second, you should see the new app installing.
7. When the app is ready, its name will appear.
8. Tap it to launch your new app.

Flirtation Creations announced today that another new app will be submitted by the company to Apple for review and inclusion on the App Store. The new app will contain information about Herbs and Spices so that users can quickly and easily local the best Herb or Spice suitable for the dish being prepared.

This app was announced as the companies latest app Essential Oils iGuide hit the App Store.

Summary
Nearly 9,000 developers have shipped more than 27,000 iPhone apps through the App Store. A small (but well-publicized) minority have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars for their developers, but the vast majority enjoy a brief spike of downloads upon release and quickly fall off as other newly-released apps fill in behind them. With little ability to influence their position in the App Store, developers have started applying their considerable creativity to building and sustaining demand for their applications in other ways.
Our survey captured the experiences of 35 published developers and shines a light on what’s working – and what’s not working – in the realm of iPhone application marketing.
Developer Profile
Our respondent base included a healthy cross-section of the developer population. 40% had just one application to their credit, but 37% had 2-5 applications in the App Store, and nearly 6% had published more than 20.
As expected given their dominance in the App Store, more than half (56%) of the surveyed developers specialize in Games, but Utilities (37%), Entertainment (29%), and Lifestyle (23%), were also well-represented, with Education (6%) Books (3%) and Other (9%) applications making up the balance.
Developer Economics
The predominant revenue model for our survey participants is charging for the application itself, with 86% indicating that paid apps were their primary revenue source. None reported developing free applications, while 6% rely on out-of-app monetization methods like driving users to a supporting e-commerce or ad-supported website, and 9% monetizing in other (unspecified) ways.
Respondents also bucked the trend when it came to their ability to make a living as iPhone developers. Over a third (37%) report that they make money primarily by making and selling their own apps, while just 11% supplemented their income by taking on contract iPhone app development projects. But over half (51%) are still holding on to their day jobs and developing their apps on the side.”

Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on your computer. The latest version is available free of charge.
You can redeem a code at the iTunes Store by following these instructions:
1. Open iTunes.
2. Click iTunes Store in the pane on the left-hand side of the window.
3. Click the Redeem link in the Quick Links box on the right-hand side of page.
4. Enter your code.
5. Click the Redeem button.
When you redeem your code, you will receive a confirmation that states what the code credit was worth. This confirmation will also tell you when or if the credit expires. Store credit and/or free product credits will appear next to your account name as displayed here:
Tip: Promotional codes usually have an expiration date; codes must be redeemed and used before the date printed on the card. It is possible to have gift certificate, prepaid card, allowance credit, and/or free song credit at the same time in iTunes.
Be sure to sign in to the iTunes Store on a regular basis to update your credit count since your credits may expire. To refresh your visible credit balance, sign in to your account in the iTunes Store. Your updated credit amount appears next to your account name.
When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
Free song credits are redeemed first.
If you have no free song credits, gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance.
If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the songs you buy.
When you buy an album on the iTunes Store:
Gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used first.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Note: Free song credits cannot be used for album purchases.
If you have no gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the albums you buy.
Note: All iTunes Store purchases are final; once you click Buy orders cannot be changed.

Before a developer can send you an application for testing, they must register your device with Apple under their application-testing program.
To send your device ID to a developer for test-program registration:
1. Launch iTunes.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select the device in the Devices list.
4. In the Summary pane, click the Serial Number label. It changes to Identifier.
5. Choose Edit > Copy.
6. Email your device identifier to the developer. Be sure to include your name and device name in the email.
